FAQ
What is the maximum daily unemployment benefit in Korea in 2026?
₩68,100 a day: 60% of the ₩113,500 wage cap set by the Employment Insurance Act Enforcement Decree Art. 68, effective January 1, 2026. People who left a job before 2026 keep the previous cap.
What is the minimum?
₩66,048 a day for an 8-hour workday: 80% of the 2026 minimum wage (₩10,320) × 8 hours. Shorter contracted days lower the floor.
How long can I receive benefits?
120 to 270 days, based on your age when you left and your insured period (Employment Insurance Act Annex 1). Workers 50+ and people with disabilities get longer periods.
Who is eligible?
You need at least 180 insured working days in the 18 months before leaving, an involuntary separation (layoff, contract end, etc.), and active job-seeking. Foreign workers enrolled in employment insurance can also qualify.
Is this the amount I will get?
It’s an estimate. Your local employment center decides based on your employer’s separation report.
